Everything about Hydnoraceae totally explained
Hydnoraceae is the
botanical name for a
family of
flowering plants. This family has been recognised by most taxonomists.
The
APG II system, of 2003, also recognizes this family, and assigns it to the order
Piperales in the clade
magnoliids. This represents a change from the
APG system, of 1998, which left the family unplaced as to order, and merely assigned the family to the basic lineages of the angiosperms.
The family consists of two genera, in a few species.
